cancelled Dante's Inferno sequel info
https://www.ign.com/articles/inside-dantes-purgatorio-the-cancelled-sequel-to-eas-dantes-inferno
Was penned by Assassin’s Creed 2 co-writer Joshua Rubin as a battle between Heaven and Hell
>Progressed deeper into pre-production, meant to be an AC1 -> AC2 level jump
>Levels included Dante venturing to the Garden of Eden, Mount Purgatory, more levels of Hell etc
>New abilities like "Spirit Jump" would allow Dante to leap vast distances, "Possession" to possess enemies, and sprout angelic wings where he could fly during large boss fights
>Traversal would have played a much bigger role, as ascending into Heaven involved climbing, the team wanted it to be "better than Uncharted or Tomb Raider", "wanted to keep you on [your] toes and instill a real sense of vertigo"
>Climbing segments would be akin to puzzles, searching for ledges you can grasp, avoiding rocks and enemy attacks
>Dante would unlock an ability to reveal unseen "Angelic Architecture" normally only visible to angels and redeemed souls that opened new paths in the environment
>The final boss fight would be against Lucifer in the middle of a burning Garden of Eden
>He would summon lightning, whirlwinds, shoot flames, hurl trees 'like javelins' etc
>Meant to be a 'colossal multi-stage battle', with the last stage taking place in the sky, described as being like “Superman 2’s aerial battle with General Zod above Metropolis"

Anon, have you paid attention at all to EA's releases this entire console gen? The answer is clearly no, especially going with what their current announced projects are.

>untitled Iron Man game probably not coming out until the end of the 2020s at minimum
This isn't just missing the boat, this is missing the big-budget Hollywood movie about the boat's wreck.

>it'll have taken 20 fucking years (give or take a few) to make a big-budget game to cash in on the Iron Man movie and it'll probably be a weird knockoff-y version of the MCU's aesthetic similar to that Square Enix Avengers game instead of actually being explicitly based on the MCU
Disney has no goddamn idea how to merchandise their franchises, this clearly isn't just a Star Wars issue anymore

Superhero realism works best when the realism emphasizes the fantastical rather than downplays it
Square Enix Avengers should have gone full Alex Ross

The best Hulk game came out nowhere remotely near any Hulk movies. A solid Iron Man game will sell regardless of Capeslop movies.

I wonder what fake protesters EA would have hired for this one.

In a better world God of war would've been cut and we would be enjoying Dante kino

it would have turned reddit as well
doubly so due to it's Christian basis, wokefags would not miss the opportunity to ruin it

it would take the same path, plus EA writing was cringe enough
