FAKEest way to kill Malenia I found was using smithscript shield. That thing has ridiculous range and homing ability, and to add to it, Malenia dodges wrong part of the move, so she eats nearly every shot. You just run around and slam shields in her face. Thanks to range, you can just run from waterfowl, so only things to watch out for is the AoE she opens second phase with, and the phantom image attack.
Still counts as shield-only victory :)
