My hairline is similar to this. I want to shave it all off but having no hair at all looks weird and growing a beard to compensate would look even worse, doubly so because I wear glasses. I'm seriously considering buying a wig or just wearing a hat 24/7.

it is genetic and carried on the X chromosome. if your mom has a male relative who went bald, then there's at least a 50% chance that you're fucked, but your dad's side of the family does not matter.
