try the past decade
I feel like gaming is dying so fucking fast, considering that gen A have a gaint library of "old" free game so they don't have to consume anything new
Yes unironically. A lot of new games you can't even remember anything about them despite having a 100 gazillion budget and being perfectly optimized by a 1000 member team.
>make a post on /vr/ >expect it to be a bit more mature than /v/ and filled with people that actually play games >clueless >if you say literally anything that isn't jerking off retro games then the thread is just "heh get filtered zoomer im so sick of zoomers zoomer zoomer" >even something as innocuous as "hey any tips for this game? it's really hard", despite them praising retro games as being difficult, they seethe when i make a post or thread asking for help with difficult parts
>>725096098 >difficult difficult >darius gaide, dariusburst, g darius >under defeat >sin and punishment and its sequel >difficult because i have no idea wtf im doing >sega bass/marine fishing >zachtronics
But also just last night I made a thread saying nothing but "I'm having a hard time getting into Space Harrier", a pretty non-controversial thing to say, and of course the thread just devolved

The only time games even remotely compare is when they're genuinely indie and they're made by one guy out of passion or whatever. And even then, it's just a different feeling to golden era triple A.
Fighting game and arcade fags are the absolute worst for this >sigh yeah they just don't make em like they use to
Oh OK want to play some Third Strike literally right now? >n-no im too tired and uh im too rusty but i was daigo tier back in the day bro trust me bro

I recently played through Gothic and it was amazing. Risen was just on sale so I picked it up on Steam. Really looking forward to trying it.
The music and atmosphere of everything pre-7th gen is inarguably better. It's instantly clear even when you boot up some AA game most people have forgotten.
Playing Titan Quest lately and years back I remember people bitching about it having aged graphics, and yet they're the peak of where we should have stopped. Games aren't a replacement for the real world and I really don't need detailed horse assholes to enjoy them.

Thanks. Really want to try Risen 2 because I like the piratey theme but I'm making myself play the first one first. Though I heard you don't really need to.

what
it's literally a gothic clone, same factions, same skills, same long distance travel system, same combat,
if a different company made it pb could sue them for plagiarism
>>725094045 >play modern sequel to a game, it sucks >play an entry in the same series from over a decade ago, its good
this is the case for literally every nintendo game, especially mario spin-offs

*playing an indie game* >generic music >copycat cookie cutter art style >graphics that are pixellated and have that stupid fake retro look >gameplay is either metroidvania garbage or roguelike gambling, sometimes both
