The bong branch denied it again while claiming that it would be unsafe for children due to private servers not being moderated by the big corpo.
The EU (Main) one is still on the table and awaits the verdict, but the chances there are better because at least it had some big govnames support during the campaign, unlike UK where the government did all it could to not allow the petition in the first place with redtape and wrong wording.

There's only two reasons anybody takes the side of the corporations in this situation:
>you're a shill
>you're a spiteful misanthrope who wants others to suffer
I have never suffered from a game shutting down. I have also never done meth. I still think it should be illegal.

There's also the distaste people have for the petition and how it only gained steam through twitch drama. Most supporters were twitch kiddies who wanted to sacrifice a streamer to the corn, not because of anything the petition was actually asking for.

you got me there, but you have to remember that the vast majority of these "games" are skinnerboxes wrapped around a basic bitch shooter. nothing of value is lost if the games get shut down.
what i want is for these mouth breathing apes we call humans to learn through the pain that games getting shut down inflicts on them, because its the only way they can learn.
dont like it when GaaS games get shut down? go play a game with dedicated servers as the norm.
all SKG does is remove that pain, and ensures that the average normalnigger will never learn.

Potentially punishing the rest of the industry because of Ubisoft, a company that won't exist in a few years, shut down multiplayer games is not the way to corral normalfags into not being scammedby buying functioning games from bad companies who will shut them off long after the normalfag forgets about them.
>>725103764
I don't consider it the good cause. The good cause would be preventing companies from forcing their single player games to require a server connection at all times. That would lead to preservation of the portions of games that actually have a good reason to be preserved. Online games aren't meant to last forever. They're usually made to be temporary money extraction machines. Fix the single player issue first, get an easy win. Then move to regulation for legal protection for private servers.

They continue instigating the murder by pressing the button while cheering every time the murderer shows up. They still get excited whenever companies who are proven to be shitty release some slop multiplayer game history shows will be shut down in a few years. It has that as a provision. It's also asking for companies to distribute their fucking server files when they shut multiplayer games down like it's 2002 and everything is still peer to peer with matchmaking lobbies instead of centralized microtransaction hell.

Its merely one of the solutions you fucking retard. The only requirement is that it remains playable after the company ends support. It could be the GW1 situation or just making it offline for all we know, as long as you can actually get to the fucking game.

Not to mention that by nature of such laws it only applies to future games, which means they would HAVE to be developed that way from the start. If anything it might bring back peer to peer into the masses instead of having this matchmaking fuckery everywhere since thats the easiest option.
Anonymous No.725105092 [Report]
>>725104814
It would be based. But it's a poison pill that ruins the rest of what could have been an easy regulation to pass. It opens the whole thing up to endless scrutiny from copyright lawyers who will throw it into legal hell. The part I both want and think would be actionable is being jeopardized because a drooling retard who has never had to deal with lawyers saddled it with a legal quagmire. And the people who could implement the initiative likely aren't going to know where to split it to get just the actionable parts implemented quickly.
