I really liked Raging Loop and Gnosia
Didn't like 999 too much so I didn't keep going on that franchise, I also tried Ever17 and disliked it
I remember liking Your Turn to Die but all my interest fizzled out after all the chapter 3 delays, I barely remember much about it anymore and don't want to bother
Danganronpa 1, 2, V3 are alright, they're pretty silly at times but they do have some good moments here and there
Kara no Shoujo was amazing in its first half, then once the focus turned into the cult bullshit I lost all interest

-The vegetables gender change subplot
-Anything related to Attractor Fields
-Okabe being able to conveniently "trick" the world to avoid having anyone die at the end
All of those were way to handwavey and stretches the plot a lot to make things work.
Anonymous No.725134878 [Report] >>725135679

those aren't asspulls, retard. Those are aspects of how time travel, a fictional plot device, works in this form of media.
An asspull is more like a magical God coming out of left field and involving the 4th wall in a story about time travel

That still made more sense than make a science story about time travel where rules are set up that allows you to bend the story in whatever direction you want. Why are you pretending to be a science story at that point?
This is part of why I find S;G such a overhyped vn.

>-The vegetables gender change subplot
there's no telling in the story that vegetables were actually the cause of the sex swap. luka could as well be female in a number of other worldlines.
and it literally doesn't matter. the "subplot" with luka is just like with any other "heroine" besides kurisu, a stepping stone for the protag to realize how the fate in the context of time travel is cruel in regards to his/other people feelings and that kurisu is the one he truly fully cares for.
the fuck would change if the vegetable method didn't work or they used some other, more "scientifically accurate" one to achieve the same goal?
>-Anything related to Attractor Fields
unless you elaborate, i'm not gonna elaborate.
the only thing i would say is that the intricacies of sciadv's world's mechanics are ot completely solvable within the respective entries in the series. you need the whole series context for that to make complete sense.
>-Okabe being able to conveniently "trick" the world to avoid having anyone die at the end
didn't read chaos;head aka "sciadv 1" before steins;gate aka "sciadv 2" award.
even if you did, you probably wouldn't understand what the true ending of s;g meant, so i'm still gonna say the following:
okabe didn't have to actually trick anyone, despite what he calls it from their perspective. the "rules" that he has to follow were there all along, it just took him the entirety of the story banging his head against those rules until he figures them out and basically reverts everything to the beginning.
what exactly makes it an asspull? it's not like the mechanic that you and the protag become aware of near the end didn't exist prior and there's something that contradicts it in favor of plot.
also, if you follow s;g up with s;g 0, you know that it's not even okabe who first comes up with the idea of "tricking the world"
Anonymous No.725136606 [Report]
not to mention the time travel described in S;G is an actual theory of time travel, and all the concepts in the game are real world theories or conspiracy theories/hoaxes (like Titor calling Art Bell or Kerr miniature black holes).
Honestly just sounds like someone is disgruntled and can't articulate it.

The vegetables part is exactly why I called the time travel handwavey, you spend a lot of time talking about how S;G obeys its rules but the story either plays loose with those rules or the rules themselves are designed to create convenient situations.
It's not just about the save everyone ending obeying the time travel rules. It's that the happy ending feels mostly unearned because the rules are permitting convenient things to happen.

the vegetables part doesn't even has anything to do with time travel in particular, besides the fact that it's something they decided to "experiment on" with their time travel toy. why the fuck is this out of all things something that you choose to latch on to? it could be written out of the story along with the character of luka and nothing would change.
why do you think the lottery experiment didn't work out?
>the happy ending feels mostly unearned because the rules are permitting convenient things to happen.
even dropping the fact that all the protag does is try to earn the happy ending, what the fuck are you talking about? what convenient things happen in the story? landing on a worldline where both mayuri and kurisu are alive is literally one (1) thing and is a very minor change to the worldline on the grand scale of things.

You are genuinely sub 70 IQ, you keep on bringing up the story being handwavey but make no mention as to how it breaks its own rules besides saying that they do somehow. I genuinely don't even know what you're complaining about. Have you ever read another time travel story in your life, because small, inconsequential action -> major consequence is one of the most defining aspects of that type of narrative since the first time travel stories were written. Holy fucking autism, S;G isn't even my favorite VN but knowing that there are people this fucking stupid out there causes me psychic damage.

Come on, seethers, my sciadv exposure is S;G and S;G0 anime, and it's *still* VERY EASY to follow along.
