This was one of the first games I got for the PS1. Always liked it even if I never got too far in it.

Friend and me would kill every single enemy in every stage that way and it never got old

I have played the first one as a kid but I never finished it because even by kid standards I was really stupid. I have done a bit of PS2 emulation but I have not emulated other consoles before. I know places of where to get ROMs/ISOs and bios though. Just never did so yet other than the PS2. I was also wondering if there are any particular settings, plugins, or ROM hacks too use. Or anything to worry about such as pressure sensitive inputs (I only have an Xbone controller).

nah, i mean only dualshocks have pressure sensitive buttons and you need a special plugin (lilypad I think but it's deprecated now) to emulate them
only a handful of games use them and even then they're not necessary

I remember a boss battle with a flamethrower and you had to get behind him to shoot his oil tank or whatever. He was the second boss battle after some lady in a subway train area. And they both talked about Logan/Gabe as if they fought each other for years so I was wondering if this was based on some 007 movies or something where Gabe was a character I just never heard about. It's also quite a trip being a poorly educated 10 year old American and the game is mentioning about military and medical terms and referring about political figures and countries I have never heard of. All I knew was that shooting was fun and this game was about being sneaky whenever possible.

that demo made me buy the game. ended up loving it, beaten it a dozen times, I was a frikkin expert at it. last played it when I discovered ps1 emulation in the late 2000s.

that boss and the helicopter boss made me think that they were just copying metal gear but they were still cool fights. as a european teenager I had zero understanding of the story. gabe's mumbling didn't help either.
