I'm considering buying an ultrawide monitor since my current one is about to die.

I play at 1080p. Got any tips for monitor brands or features?

ultrawide is literally 2 monitors in one, also curved one is a shit for watching movie

I'm seeing decent ultrawide monitors but they're 3440x1440 and I think my 4060 is not going to be able to run games at a decent fps rate

I got a 7800xt for 3440x1440 and a lot of games barely make due but I get to max them out most of the time. Of course it also depends on the game, a lot of studios are just fucking lazy at optimization but with a 4060 you would have to upgrade relatively soon or settle for medium and low settings but at that point why bother with a nice screen if you can't make full use of it.

That's also why I haven't upgraded further yet, although you would have to factor in the money you would get for selling your old one. 9070xt is probably the best bang for buck you can get currently, probably gets cheaper when new generation gets revealed.
But in the end of the day, if your hardware can't handle it upgrading your screen to higher resolution is just stupid. Get the necessary power first and then upgrade some time later.

Gaming can get pretty expensive but it all depends on how much it's worth to you. Just don't be retarded with what you buy and when.
