>"I am... afraid..."

It's crazy how little competition Hades has. Most predictable GOTY since Elden Ring.

so, how many times do I have to beat this to get most of the story?

Great game, definitely forgettable though. Mostly boring or outright annoying characters, bland music, less charming base of operations to come back to, boons blended together way more with some options just generally being objectively better to choose (see the damage numbers for Aphrodite), visually way too busy areas that you get stuck on the environment or lose your character in the chaos (not to mention multiple spots where the camera outright tracks to somewhere else and off your character), and an outright poorly told/developed story.

It's still a great game in a lot of ways, but the first Hades was a much tighter experience that has stuck with me way more than I feel this will. Supergiant needs to move on to other projects. Maybe there was a reason they made something new every time instead of doing sequels honestly.

Credits take 10 runs. Same as the first. Then you get all the post-game difficulty shit.

Hades always appealed to people who DON'T play games. It was never a good game.

Explain how, because I genuinely have no idea what you mean by this

Give or take five runs for the underworld path, then 5 runs for the surface path. You'll likely have to do another 10-20 runs though before you actually see a victory or get the dialogue that unlocks end game incantations needed to reach credits. That, and the curse that Eris puts on you makes blazing through early runs a nightmare on purpose.

So, probably about 15-30 hours if you're on top of things and decent at the game/lucky with boons. There's an epilogue as well, but it's genuinely nothing of value. That, and the requirements are obnoxious because you have to progress dialogue with characters, some of which are only 3/4s of the way through a run, that will stack up dialogue related to entirely separate quest lines. I had to do a run to speak with a certain boss at least 10 or 15 times before they said a thing I needed to progress. Shit's obnoxious how its designed.
