Hakuryuu's arc was kinda all over the place. It was part 'earning the trust of the team' part 'being afraid of your own power' and part 'learn to play as part of a team'. I just liked him because his hissatsu was cool as fuck.

Besides, it's not like I played Chrono Stone for the personal story, I played it for the crazy ass time travel plot that escalated into a giant tournament for the future of the human race.

you could play the first chapter of story and competition mode against ai or online against players
there are rewards in the full game if you played it

The Ares power up was going to be awakening and the anime had characters with an unexplained aura ability. Bond Transformation was most likely made when the game was originally going to be a big crossover game instead of having a new story. Then they finally made mode change when they realized that they have a bunch of schizo characters so it should just be a real mechanic to make them work.
