The lack of meaningful physics in newer games. I was playing Alone in the Dark (2008) and was genuinely surprised during an early physics puzzle that wasn't just scripted, or context sensitive.

Older games are more gameplay driven whereas newer are games are too story driven with too many cut scenes and tutorials. Seriously just let me play the fucking game.
