I played it in 2015 for the first time and it, along Silent Hill 1 rekindled my love for videogames. They just don't make them this good anymore.

I played 1-3 blind recently.
1 is the only one I really loved.
The games got a little too goofy later on for me.
The first game is goofy, but at the same time takes itself seriously, and also expects you to take it seriously.
It's completely schizophrenic, but also somehow more immersive because of that.
The only thing that aged poorly were the graphics, but the art style is really detailed and consistent so that made up for it.

The gameplay is fine. Its not as good as later entries since the AI is a bit simplistic and controls are limited but it has good boss fights
