The whole "I'm a god so I can fuck whoever I want" isn't the problem with Mel. The problem is she's never challenged on any of her retarded godcucked beliefs or forced to grow as a character. She's not interesting, and none of the storylines that feel like they build towards her growing as a character go anywhere. What was the point of all the substories showing the cruelty of the gods? What was the point of Prometheus?

is a lie, however. Been seeing plenty of discussion here about weapons, builds like you said, high fear runs and grinding in general. Gameplay is a thing I think most anons can agree that has been improved compared to 1.
As for the hype, I think that the fact that the game got released as an EA game means that lots of people experienced it BEFORE actual release and making a normalfag to play a single player game twice is damn near impossible nowadays

They did a terrible job pacing early access content.
In terms of gameplay, all release did was change weapon mechanics (admittedly for the two worst weapons) and add three keepsakes which help you snowball at a time when you’ve already killed both bosses at least five times and probably don’t need them.
The main story was underwhelming and prophecy side quests got hammered by them not having the dialogue priorities set properly, making some get hidden by the deluge of new minor lines.

Since gameplay and music are the two strongest aspects, this effectively meant the majority would burn through new content in under a week unless they were completionists, in which case they’d talk about being frustrated at some of the triggers not launching rather than what they’d already gone through for nearly a year at that point.

Fine, here is my honest opinion as someone on this board who actually played it
>Changes to dash and addition of mana system is pretty good and makes combat feel tighter and less spammy from first game
>Weapons are a mixed bag. Axe is great, and staff/torches can be fun but the other weapons are either not that fun or just really janky to use. Weapon variants sounded amazing on paper but in execution most of them aren't that great
>Story and dialogue suck. What did Chronos do that was so bad that Hades and crew had to dunk on him and make him want to get revenge? Why the fuck is Bacchus and everyone on Mount Olympus chilling out while the big bad monster is fucking shit up? There is so much dialogue in this game and so much of it is meaningless or poorly written, with tiny exceptions like Nemesis who feels like an actual character with some sort of motivation. Hades is chained in Tartarus and just sort of feels like he doesn't give a fuck about anything even after his decades lost daughter suddenly shows up. I haven't quite finished story yet but with how many said the old ending sucked I don't have high hopes.
>Two areas is a good change that made me stick with the game a lot longer than the first. Mount Olympus onwards is kino with a great ost and some good fights. Underworld feels pretty lacking once you get good enough to beat Mount Olympus regularly and also feels pretty easy in comparison. Sometimes feels like you just have to get the underworld runs done and over with so you can get to the much more fun surface runs.

Phase shift is OP as fuck, with some selene upgrades you get 6 seconds of slowed time (up to 75%) to stack all your curses and crits and take minimal to no damage. It's tied with Moon Water for best hexes in my opinion

You probably haven't been making proper builds. The skull's Aspect of Persephone absolutely shreds everything with the extra levels it gives you, and the coat's Aspect of Selene has insane single target damage. I don't have a pic on me but I easily cleared 32 Fear with the coat.
