There have been half a dozen open world feudal Japan games in the last decade and this is the only one where you're forced to play as a fictional negro. It's probably a great game because all of the post-Origins AC games are, but it's not hard to see why people passed on it.

all their metrics were either based on player numbers when it was on like xbox gamepass or ubisoft or something like that and their sales figs were all intentional bullshit. like

or something weird. because every other assassin's sneed game came out late october or early november so most of copies sold were sold for christmas. vs shadow basically everyone who wanted it just bought it day one

By this metric, I should be the target audience for Assassin's Creed: Japan. However, I was alienated as soon as the game was announced. I wonder what may have caused this.
