Too ambitious for what Game Freak was capable of getting out of the 3DS, content was only just okay, new dex sucked, Z moves were godawful, totems weren't a good replacement for gyms, losing the seamless online functions from XY made it feel like a step down. They're still okay games but they're even more flawed than SwSh, the Legends games, and maybe even SV after the Switch 2 upgrade. They should have made Stars instead of USUM and LGPE.
