Probably just breaking down metal tools/wrecks

Will be a nice secondary way or tearing down wrecked cars

At this point I genuinely hope NPCs come so you can make a survivor enclave because there's too much shit to do alone. This is genuinely of the best survival crafts out there, but the zombie shit doesn't mesh well, because you either go full milspec survivor running around the city or you move out innawoods and ignore them completely. Wish there was some kinda way to bridge it

The issue is with the isometric perspective it makes combat with NPCs horrendous.
>get shot off screen and insta die

I guess you could nerf them to only shoot at you when actually visible on your screen but the way windows and your characters cone view works you will still get out of nowhere deaths.

You could also increase the TTK and make it more gamey which could make it fun, now it feels like shadowrun for snes but again they're pushing hyperrealism and "this is how you die" so hard it just kind of fucks everything up.

Same issue with SCUM, they recently added npcs and they're basically terminators with aimbot, if they made the game more gamey they would be a ton of fun.

>Grind all that in singleplayer
>Reach level 10, build all the coolest shit and then get bored in 30 minutes because the base gameplay loop is boring

OR

>Grind all that in multiplayer
>Give your friends epic metal swords
>You all get bored after a couple of sessions because there is nothing to do after you build a base and wipe the zombies from the closest chunks.

Remember when human NPC's and an actual story were promised 10+ years ago?

I just want to make a survivor enclave where I can designate NPCs to do some of the menial shit like farming, or blacksmithing desu

true that would be kino

Honestly yeah even if NPCs are purely for pve purposes that would go such a long way, some of the NPC mods actually work really well for PVE only already.

Could have tiny settlements you find where you can rest, barter, recharge your moodles with entertainment/happiness etc
Quests where you trade specific supplies for harder to find items like a generator, rarer tools, nails etc
