I want people to push algorithms into things they have no interest in. The hope is what has unfolded where all the advertisements are things you either can't use or need or something you'd never want, if enough do this, it creates a fascinating dystopia were business waste money to advertise to people that will never support them.

I went the actual effort to block ads and sponsors on my TV's YouTube and I'm never looking back. I made it my life mission to block ads by any mean possible and shield my kids from ad exposure. Decided to do so when they started showing ads with drag queens in them

i hate advertisements and i hope all marketers get the luigi treatment. screaming children demanding my attention and under the illusion they're entitled to it just because they paid some jeet who works at google. i will never watch ads or have my time wasted by them. the day adblocking doesn't work is the day i cut myself off entirely from modern media.

I had an idea for an extension where whenever an ad plays, the media player is hidden, audio muted and the skip button is automatically pressed. I don't mind the time loss itself because I usually have youtube in the background, but ads that play for 4+ minutes if you don't skip it seriously piss me off. A tool like this would still give revenue to whatever channel, and I see no evil. It's also on the user end so it can't be moderated. Is this possible?

If I see an advertisement I immediately don't want to use or buy your product, though that sentiment is unfortunately why "natural" ads are so common now that they've lost the stranglehold and nobody watches specific things like television anymore. Basically just like everything online I assume it is all bullshit, lies and propaganda all of the time.

Yes, i've thought about that too. It is definitely possible but would be some effort especially to make it non-clunky. Unfortunately they have so much shit now on the client side that monitors you to help them monetize you. Some sites will pause the ad if you do things like unfocus the window. You would need to fake a lot of things out.
Better option would have be to have a client that sits through all the ads and downloads/records the video then you just watch with no interruptions and it could be sitting through the ads for the next video while you are watching.
