How is it possible to blunder an IP this hard? We haven't gotten a fun Star Wars game in more than a decade

Lucas used to have an entire game studio under him (Lucasarts) and originally they were FORBIDDEN from making any game about Star Wars. Lucas wanted them to become known for high-quality unique games, not Star Wars slop.

The entire franchise is an infantilized, uninspired DEIfest now and the old canon got trashed in favor of Disneyslop that is scientifically designed to appeal to the broadest possible audience (drooling, retarded consoooomers). You can't possibly make a good game out of source material this tarnished.

It is hilarious though,they could hire those who did the EU and literally swim in billions just for the things they wrote in the past and even make it appealing/digestible to the normie cattle by giving them short background information but they simply refuse to get them involved

star wars to me always felt like they never took it seriously, the aliens don't even look like something that could exists its just all exaggerated muppets basically

>no game where you play as an Empire soldier without switching sides, having as much or less screentime as the rebels, or just always losing
>no stormtrooper simulator
>no bounty hunter/smuggler simulator where you can do jobs for either the empire or the rebels and influence their hold on the region or fuck them over

Well advertising that the new games will have you playing as Imperials and Criminals, and then revealing that that was a lie and they're actual rebels has kinda soured people I think.
