I think the aerith route is most girlfriendy. With tifa ch14 will make you seethe if you don't like Aerith. Although Aerith route has that to some extent in ch9.
I just hope part3 has multiple clear romance endings for the routes instead of one vague ending like they usually do. Unless they do a harem ending

The only reason there's the chemistry we have between Aerith and Cloud is because of a huge pivotal spoiler about his character late in the game's story, and without spelling things out too much yes Cloud and Tifa do things later that would have them be considered a couple.

Aerith makes it clear she understands the only attraction she has to Cloud is because of Zack and she knows he's not Zack and can never fill that role. During their "date" they only ever hug. Tifa acts completely differently around Cloud, and he acts completely differently around her, and during their date they actually kiss. Part three of the remake trilogy will have an implied sex scene at this rate.
