Is gaming on 1440p/144hz monitors a big enough improvement over 1080p/60hz to justify the expense?
Anonymous No.725278385 [Report]
nope.

Its more than double the framerate and 175% the pixel density.
>expense
It's not expensive, it's the bare minimum.
Anonymous No.725278468 [Report]
the resolution? eh
that refresh rate? provided the game can maintain that framerate with good frametimes, hell yeah
Anonymous No.725278498 [Report]
The resolution no, the refresh rate yes.
Higher resolution and the bigger screen it comes with is actually cancer for gaming since you need to move your eyes more to gather information.
You sound like a brain damaged casual fucktard so for daily use 1440p would be also better for you.

1440 was pay to lose for me in multiplayer games. All my aiming scores dropped because I have to exert much more effort to be on target and also frequently simply don't see things fast enough despite being an arms lenght from the screen
But it's amazing for productivity

It depends what you play, generally bigger screen + higher refresh will be an improvement however it can also be somewhat inconvenient in certain competitive games

I jumped from a 1080p 60hz TV to a 1440p 180hz IPS monitor this year and it's absolutely worth it, along the fact that 1440p monitors are very affordable as long as you don't jump straight into OLED.

Yes. 4K is and always will be a meme though.

>1440p/144hz
They don't even make that anymore, it's 180hz now.

Huge improvement, but once you upgrade you can't go back.
You were warned.

It's a meme res and meme hz. More resolution and more hz don't actually make you better at a game.

>t. Still getting first place in shooters for over 30 years, still using 1080p60hz

The only thing that WILL improve your experience is a graphics card that won't slow down your game when someone pops a smoke or you zoom in with your scope.

$200 10 years ago? lol fucking poorfags i swear. Its like $100 for a 2k 165hz screen now.

I don't play shooter or competitive games, but I play lots of japanese goon games, most of which only have a render limit of 720p. Using upscaler software on a 1440p monitor to upscale these 720p games result in a pixel perfect scaling, which fits my needs very well.

>I have to exert much more effort to be on target and also frequently simply don't see things fast enough
That doesn't make sense. You see more things on 1440p, you also didn't adjust mouse sensitivity, pretty sure you can find online calculator for transfering 1080p sens to 1440p.
Anonymous No.725282568 [Report]
I upgraded to 1440p because I got a good deal on a monitor and my old 1080p one was on the fritz
Can't say I've noticed a huge difference but if you have a GPU that you can play at 1440p with then go for it

>don't actually make you better at a game
>zoomer assumes the only reason somebody could possibly care about resolution or frame rate is to be better at competitive multiplayer
What a retarded post.
