Your entire premise hinges on a recency bias: no one is going to discuss something that's been out for a long time with the same fervor as something that came out recently. No shit a nearly 10 year old game isn't analyzed as much as a game that came out this year when the former already had its time in the sun to be analyzed and have theories about the game shared.
Even then there's the occasional non-porn Nier thread that does dive into those topics, so you're also full of shit ton that front too. There's also a lot of SFW or at worst cheesecake cosplays and art of the series.
You don't have to put down another game to like another one you know? I'm sure E33 is fine, but it's readily apparent it's not going to be as big as Nier Automata, where 2B is likely collaborating in any given game 10 years out.

He hasn't retired since he did Nier Reincarnation and he does allow Nier crossovers to exist. He's probably enjoying the fact that he made it: from Drakengard, the absolute shitheap that sold basically no units to an unquestionable global hit in Nier Automata with his best work being Drakengard 3. I wouldn't want to work for a while too and just revel in my success for a bit.
