Fallout 4 is now 10 years old, lol
Anonymous No.725354039 [Report] >>725359991
It was alright at best

Is the anniversary patch out yet? Playing it at the moment but haven't installed any mods because of the update.
Anonymous No.725354143 [Report]
fallout 4 is as old as fallout 2 was when 3 came out, lmao

600+ hours, with probably 550+ hours of that after turning the game into stalker-lite w/ basebuilding through mods.

Literally how poor do you have to be to be using a 10 year old gpu?

And soon to be one day old again!

The most autistic game ever made. Its like Bethesda hired psychologists to make it that way. They even made the body and facial animations a certain way as to not scare them.

The opening of Fallout 4 sucks so fucking bad. Never touched Starfield, but I doubt there's anything in it as bad as Fallout 4's first hour.

Better than FO3's opening.

almost everything about fallout 4 sucks, its only good as a base for mods to turn it into an entirely different experience from what the devs made.

it is actually worse. in fo4 you're free as soon as you get out of the vault. haven't touched it in 2 years but i think in starfield you are only free after you've been to constellation. which is a bunch of walk and talk scenes, the opening in the mine, the fight with the pirates, the dungeon with the robot, landing in that city, more walk and talk and going through the introduction with constellation. that's like 2 or 3 hours.

It's frankly baffling that any game company would actually just drop one of it's most popular IP's for a whole fucking decade lmao.
Back in the 2000's game devs knew what would make money and they pumped games out the ass to get it.

Mid game, better on survival difficulty (for subsequent playthroughs)

Alright it was the best

Is it a hot take to think Fallout 4 is a better dollhouse sim than Animal Crossing New Horizons? Neither game's mechanics are very deep, but you can do a lot with FO4's settlements, even on vanilla. And FO4 has a whole game and gameplay loop outside of just building settlements.

Why did Bethesda stop making games? Where are those Skyrimdollars going?

It's not bad, like 20 minutes long really. It sucks, but it's still not as bad as any ubislop opening.

is it bad that I dislike it because of how brief it is? I kind of wish it went on for an hour

Kek you reminded me of the mod that overexaggerates all the facial expressions in the game

they are probably regretting it with how successful the fallout tv show was, since they weren't able to capitalize on it with a new game release at the same time.

Just a difference in opinion. If the story was better, a more involved intro wouldn't be a negative, but I think it only benefits role-playing if we spend less time with the playable character's backstory.

>but I think it only benefits role-playing if we spend less time with the playable character's backstory.
That I agree with. That's why the intro is frustrating because it tries to set up these characters and the world before the bombs but its so brief that it doesn't have a lasting impact, it's the worst of both worlds.
A thing I've always hated about fallout 4 is the urgency introduced to the main quest of the game, you are a parent desperately searching for their lost son and that's set in stone that is who your character is and so there's immediately this disconnect whenever you waste time in the wasteland because you're supposed to be looking for your kid

This is the kind of classic games I grew up with. They don't make them like this any more.

It was alright. I think Power Armor came into play way too fucking early, and the robustness of the weapon customization was wasted on a bunch of shit pipe guns.

paw armuh despite looking good is an utter dog shit
a coupla shots from raiders and it's broken and you have to melt all those tin cans and wrenches to repair it
and higher tiers of pa need even more grinding

Power armor absolutely breaks the fucking game.
The most basic-bitch T45a model is tougher than any 'regular' armor you'll get in the whole game. And can be repaired with nothing more than steel and some circuits, found ALL OVER THE PLACE FOR FREE.
It trivializes every combat aspect of the game into a joke.

You're not really forced to use it, you know. The modular armor system provides a lot of potential for a steadier power progression if that's what you're after. My only complaint about armor is that there should have been more options. More armor pieces, more compatibility between pieces, and more pieces that work with ballistic weave.

>live on a radioactive island full of massive animals that come out of the fog from any direction to eat you
yeah I'd have spiky armor on me too.
