Series was fine until after Brotherhood. Thenit dropped off.
Sorta came back with Black Flag despite it being more of a pirate than asscreed game.
The games that came after simply suck shit.

I have the first one but never played any of them. I can already tell the answer is "Ubisoft".

Ass creed 3 killed the modern plotline (and overall plot)
Ass 4 was about boats
The rest's gimmicks are their settings and that's about it

The shit that Ubisoft hamfists into all of their properties has nothing to do with where their offices are located. Why the fuck did you quote me, you massive fucking faggot?

it basically became a soulless franchise that kept reusing the iconography after the very first game.

AC1 = the only good one

They didn't actually want to do AC games anymore, but since they couldn't make other games that would sell, they had to slap the AC stamp on their fantasy action rpgs too

AC2 was already so different from AC1 that it should've been a new IP instead of a sequel.

I could never get past ass 3. Revelations was my favorite. After hearing what happened to Desmond, I didn't bothered with the series.

I started up 3 and didn't even make it to America. Saw how far free-running had been dumbed down in the theatre tutorial and then the fist fight on the boat was also shitty.

Same gameplay and mechanics. Only games that changed radically were Black Flag and Origins.

They spent the first 4 games building up to a modern day finale and then realized that they didn't have the capability to do that so they cut it short.

Ubisoft pushing for yearly releases, which made the original director of the series leave the company.

The CoD-ification of franchises in the 7th gen ruined so many franchises back in the 7th gen.

I loved Odyssey. That is my opinion on modern AC.

It started going downhill with 2 all else is cope
the whole marvel super soldier Ezio kind of ruined it. And the games hardly had any assassinations anymore. If you even got an assassination it barely felt like anything, they even removed the chase music.

The assassination part of AC1 felt like something grand, the buildup, the stalking, the kill and chase, thats what assassins were supposed to do. Ezio basically became Bezos of the renaissance

>It started going downhill with 2 all else is cope the whole marvel super soldier Ezio kind of ruined it.
I actually fully agree with that. Ezio was literally Batman, always saving the day and wiping small armies of Templars by himself. And, to make him look even more heroic, his batches of Templars were always cartoonishly evil and had no aspirations aside from killing, whoring, and taking over the world. That's one thing I really loved about 3 is that Haytham and his group all have valid reasons for what they're doing, just like in AC1.

thats the reason why I prefer Arno to Ezio
they have a similar character but Arno is way more realistic
I love Ezio too as a character but the gameplay and how he's set up in the story doesnt fit.
His fighting style changing from B to revelations is neat, the way he uses intimidation and brutality, but I feel like he'd be better portrayed as a wise and intelligent assassin instead of brotherhood ezio but now shoving his entire sword down people's throat

The Modern Day" plotline in every game after 3 felt like a "yeah yeah let's get this over with", something they have to briefly acknowledge it exists because they're obligated to, like a divorced dad to an unwanted child.
First was the unnamed employee in BF/R, the "hello player bye player" of Unity and Syndicate and the half-hearted attempt of a new story in Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla. It honestly think they regret having one in the first place given how directionless everything is.

Early Assassin’s Creed was from a time when Ubisoft was good. Ubisoft didn’t become “the slop company” until after Far Cry 3.

>>725363936
>>725364134
A lot of that can be blame on the fact that a lot of people were filtered by 1’s philosophical conspiracy plot and so they decided to make it more palatable to a mainstream audience by turning it into “Count of Monte Cristo: Pasta Edition”.

It evidently worked considering that Ezio is by far the most popular assassin and AC1 has become niche, liked almost exclusively by diehard fans and purists.
