Isn't this based on some Korean MMO slop? Doesn't bode well. I'll still be keeping my eye on it.

Just look at that games or any Korean art work
it's technically well and done and pretty impressive but something is always lacking

I played Crimson Desert at Gamescom.

It's 100% going to be my GOTY for 2026. The combat is incredibly fun. Closer to a fighting game than a typical ARPG.

The marketing is weirdly lowkey, yeah. We'll see what more they'll show closer to release.

This
I think it stems from the culture of hypercompetitive conformance to a set standard, which is ok for operating a forklift or playing starcraft, but bad for imagination

I don't know about the other stuff, but the stuff about combat is completely wrong. It's incredibly fluid. One of the best combat systems I've played with.
Anonymous No.725365819 [Report] >>725365890 >>725366408
>>725365159
combat looks pretty basic with lots of "press button to perform scripted action that completely rips control away from the player". Fighting mechanical dragon, need to use a grapple to traverse the castle during scripted chase sequence. fighting some big ogre/werewolf thing, press button to climb onto its back, perform a single stab, and then hop off, repeat ad nauseum, etc.
Anonymous No.725365890 [Report]
>>725365819
Its rather involved. The issue is, if anything, that some button combinations are too unwieldy.

It's closer to a fighting game. It's very, very involved. The only complaint I can see from the combat is that it's probably going to be insanely difficult for a lot of people that are expecting Elden Ring or Dragon's Dogma. A generic open world fantasy RPG. It might be a little too complicated, but I personally thought it was god tier.

For that alone, I know it'll be my goty 2026. I just hope the story and world exploration is at least half as fun as the combat is. If it is, then it's probably gonna be one of my favorite games.

I played the demos during the last two gamescoms and enjoyed it. the control scheme is a bit overloaded but I like that you ahve a lot of options during combat. Whats going to make or break the game for me is whats outside of combet. is exploration fun? story interesting?

Koreans are simply incapable of creating a comprehensive game. All their games have one or two great things to them while the rest is comically bad so the whole thing is completely disjointed.
It's like their dev teams have a couple geniuses while the bulk are soulless, talentless pajeets.

Are there any videos showing the meat and potatoes of this game? They keep showing fancy boss fights which do look well made, but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be an open world action game, right? So those bosses will be like 10% of your playtime and I have no clue how the exploration and fighting regular niggas look like.
