does /v/ bother with game reviews and more or do the lads skip straight to checking out streams instead?

I watch some gameplay clips on YouTube and then pirate it if it looks alright.

I go in blind and balls deep. I'l know within 30 minutes of playing if the game sucks ass

I can't form my own opinion so I follow the majority of /v/'s perspective.

I look at a longplay that's uncommentated and make my opinions from that. I can't imagine being gay enough to read reviews, or a big enough fag to watch streamers.

If Yahtzee Croshaw recommends something, then I'll usually check it out, because the guy is extremely picky and I've predominantly enjoyed whatever I played on his recommendation. Plus his reviews are mostly short and comedic in tone, so they don't spoil much of the experience.

I youtube it and if the channel isn't owned by an obnoxious preachy fuckwit, i give it a click and skip through the video for 5 mins, that's if i'm at all interested in the game. Usually i just skip to the mid of the video and i've already formed my opinion in like 2 seconds, no need to watch the rest.
I don't watch videos which sound like they've been written down and read over a gameplay video. Do it fucking live or don't bother.

1 minute max or less because every streamer is always interacting with the chat instead of playing, which makes sense, they're not there to give you info, they're there to entertain people who don't play video games.

You need context for game reviews. For example Zelda tends to get boosted reviews because it's Zelda so game critics tend to just go with the low-effort idea all these games are automatically good.

If one day even all the game critics start giving the newest Zelda terrible reviews you need to stop and think "wait... even THEY hate it? I need more context".

It could be because the game is actually surprisingly terrible or it could be because it randomly made fun of tranny niggers or something and critics got butthurt. You need context for why a game got the review scores it got.

I look at the store page to make up my own opinions and check the steam user reviews in case there are some red flags to avoid. Maybe a video or a stream to see the actual gameplay, but not to listen to the streamer. I do not trust "content creators" any more than I trust "professional" game reviewers.

I can look at a screenshot and tell you everything about a game. Literally everything and I've never been wrong. How can you fags not do this? I've been able to do this my whole life. With movies too. I've never understood reviewing a game.

If that image wasn't the result of the DD2 announcement then I'm mistaken. The absolute dogshit performance of Dragons Dogma 2 ruined capcom for me. It was the last time I was ever hyped for a video game. Even now that I have a new pc build that can power through the terrible optimization I just can't be bothered to pick it up again.

I had a blast playing through Dark Arisen, but I do remember getting filtered fighting the Minotaur the first time, he was way too much health and resistances for my party to deal with.

Nah, I don't bother with "professional" reviews. I look at actual gameplay, maybe read about particular game features I'm interested in and then I check out Steam user reviews to see if people are shitting on it and if so, for what reason.
