Vavra desperately wanted to be accepted into the normalfag circles and celebrated by the game journos, so he put this character in to prove how much of a not racist he is. It worked.

As for the fag romance with Hans, I think he actually was personally invested into this one. Maybe Vavra is even gay himself. His post about finding out late in life you're gay is very suspect.

It's actually pretty sad the game we got, and I'm not even talking about the negro traveler. The whole game fails to live up to the promise that KCD made. The plot is also utter fucking nonsense and at the end you are LITERALLY VISITED BY THE GHOST OF YOUR PARENTS who will either approve of your actions or chastise you for being a very bad boy, depending on what you did.
