Just finished DQ3. Love how simple it is. What other JRPG series are as straight forward?

Final Fantasy 1 is DQ3's hard mode.
Phantasy Star series. But two and three have big bullshit inside: Two has torture dungeons and broken stats and three is about not having a clear idea to where to go, you can even lose yourself into finding the last village in the first generation.

Early 8bit jarpigs encapsulate a certain kind of sense of spiritual and mechanical completeness. they feel like the platonic ideal of their own genre. I love them.

FF1 isn't that hard, but it's certainly harder than DQ3.
