This is a misconception that was invented by boomers.
Let me explain.
See in the 70's 80's all the young boomers were hippy faggots. They despised their Greatest Gen parents for their western and religious backgrounds and wanted to just do a bunch of drugs and have wild easy sex while listening to gay music.
But then they hit 30 realized "Oh fuck, you know the drugs and sex were fun but I feel like a total fucking loser for some reason, like all this weed and sex and Beatles on full blast was just a massive waste of time, I.. I'm a fucking embarrassment!"
So they rushed to get a jobby jobs in the easiest possible fucking time ever with infrastructure their WW2 parents built and were able to quickly catch up and make easy money, afford homes and start families.
Then they told their Gen X-through-Millennial children "Your 20's is for fun, but you've gotta be an adult by 30" and so those kids thought "I will be a different person in the next decade just like mom and dad, this is normal" not realizing that people don't go through sudden personality shifts like that.
The boomers told a lie, the embarrassed hippy fucks simply put on a mask to grind out a living but were still always hippy fucks deep down, they didn't really change at all and all the tools to effortless transition into a miserable boomer fuck made it easy (Millennials can't eve hope of doing this).
