It's all right to kill Tanaka if you wanna, you just miss out on his badass training arc, but you can't recruit him in the current update anyway. If you're gonna kill contestants, it's best not to do it at the train because it'll waste days so it's best to start over if you get tied up.

Getting tied up wastes all three days, on night 3 there's no more contestants to recruit to your party making the game much harder than it is with a full party. If you reset to morning 1 I recommend going left and north from the train.

I'm assuming saving in Funger 2 is done by sleeping beds like the first game; when you refer to losing those 3 days, does that mean I cannot save the game at this point? Is there even a valid ending by going this route? What happens when you reach an ending anyway, is there NG+?

Yeah, each time you rest you go from morning to evening to night, so you get 9 rest saves. However if you find a F&H skin bible you can use that + chalk on a ascended god circle to make a save point as well. Saving is a lot more forgiving in 2 than 1.

Yeah there's no more saving on the night of day three. There's no NG+ but if you beat certain routes, you'll unlock extra little spells you can use next run.

Last question because I'm not actually looking to get spoiled that much; I picked the Thug character because he looks cool (and he kinda resembles The Mercenary/Cahara) and I was wondering how much of what I saw was exclusive to him but your guys' response sounds like its not like that and any character could kill this Tanaka and get tied up. The huge number of playable characters compared to the first game surprised me and I couldn't help but wonder if some characters (including the Thug) could be noob traps? Or maybe it's not like that either idk

Marcoh, the Jojo looking guy? He is the best starting character if you have lockpicking on him. There's not a whole lot of player character specific events, everything you've done you can do with anybody up to that point you reached.

Marcoh is a generally very good character, he probably has the easiest early game out of all the characters but doesn't have some of the more in-depth interaction that the Mechanic, Journalist, and Yellow Mage have. Also, for raw ludonarrative kino play the Botanist, you'll get your ass kicked hard but one of her endings is so fucking good and satisfying.

there aren't really any 'noob traps' characters, but i personally wouldn't recommend the journalist or magic characters to first timers because they require some preexisting knowledge of the game's mechanics to be utilized effectively

dealing with the botanist's wheelchair is honestly not that bad and can even be weaponized in the overworld with the right positioning. the abilities you can get with her right out of the gate with the right character creation choices make her S tier easily

I like the bunny and wolf masks because it's rare that a fictional world tells you about the lowest level of worship of a god. While some are using GroGoroth's power to explode peoples limbs and other use Slyvians powers for instant healing mid battle, these dumb fucks are permanently lost in orgy/cannibalism ecstasy. Almost done with the girl marriage mod, just waiting for a friend to draw up some art for the S-endings. Once I get it, I'll upload the update.

Just doing a bit of tweaks here and there. For example, when you walk up to the salmonsnake lake while having the walk on water ability and a glass vial, if will ask you if you want to use walk on water. If you say yes, before you can actually start walking, another prompt will come up asking if you want to get some water with the glass vial. It is now consolidated into one prompt.

Also, the first time you visit Mahabre, the characters will have a cutscene where they marvel at the city. This scene was missable if you travel back in time and entered Mahabre during the past, but now the cutscene happens in both cases.

Quite a few characters are in desperate need of a second act too. We never even learn what happens to Marina's mom and whether or not father domek was lying about her death or not.

Each character gets a slightly different train dialog but for the most part you can skip it. Do Olivia intro though, she has important story notes in her dream sequence.
