I really don't want to shell $100 only for it to barely perform and constantly crash

no. it forces raytracing on for the lighting, and you'll have to set all graphics settings to low which means it will look like the orignal Oblivion

I needed a new CPU to play this game. it needs 4 cores minimum

I can't get the textures to render properly so they're lower res than the original game. Shout outs to FSR and Unreal Engine.

Bought the 'physical' edition and it only has the intro sewers on disc. You have to download the rest, like a game key card. Was very dissapoint.
Its fun to just talk to NPCs and see their new look. Tried to get Kvatch over and done with early but it feels like a slog and im already getting bored

I played through skyrim again for the first time in a decade last Christmas and put a couple hundred hours, so much sovl its unreal

Kinda want to try a no death run. After dumping 100s of hours into these games i feel its the only way i can generate edge of your seat excitement.

I really do miss the tiny stuff. The open cities, windows letting you see outside. I also really like simple stuff like having eating and sleeping survival mechanics. Also i feel everything is a tad too dark

I'm deeply considering since it would save me $100 and from what I'm reading, everyone rated the remaster poorly due to poor optimization and it was abandoned by bethesda after the cash grab

i like to do that with randomed characters, and only use apprentice or higher skills. it's a balancing of act of immediate survival vs. minmaxing your levelups. really satisfying to train your first minor skill to 25, or find gear with +skill enchants like the db armor, or discover the location of a useful standing stone for future runs (a lot of them give greater powers for +20 to certain skills for 120 seconds)
shame there are no cross save inheritance or prestige quest mods like in skyrim. it's 99% of the way there with hiyoko

OP, it's not worth $100. Buy the original from GOG or whatever for $10 and mod it. The Remake is not worth the price difference and it's really not worth it if you have to turn all the graphics down anyway to run it on a 1070.

I played it for 60 hours on a 2060 and the open world was almost unbearable with stuttering. I just quickly went from cave to ruin to oblvion gate because as long as I wasn't in the open world I could get 50-60 fps. UE 5 sucks, but so does my computer. Its just annoying because I can run 1900 mods in skyrim that looks stunning
