I used to want to work for the Forest Service but after doing a lot of volunteering with them and making friends with some of them, I changed my mind. I used to work at Epic for about 5 years around Covid times. When Covid hit, Tim basically fucked off to western NC in a cabin and posted pictures from his hikes every day on twitter. If you've ever heard him talk he's obviously got a touch of the 'tism. Thats only the case as an individual holding the property as your most expensive asset. Your money is tied up in the house, you are directly increasing and lowering the price based on demand because ideally you need to sell. You can't just sit on it forever until you die, unless you want to live in it, because otherwise it does nothing for you.

Big companies and orgs like banks have no such need. They aren't reliant on a house selling to keep moving their life forward. They own 100,000s of houses. They know property prices will keep rising over time. There is no logical reason for them to sell because they dont need the money - why make money now when could make more money later?
