We need more murder mystery kinos

Mystery stories are worthless if you, as the player, aren't expected to solve them.

That we do. I want to feel hopeless in a world that is against me, within a hair's breadth of drowning the pain in a bottle of bourbon before the reality of life comes crashing down and duty draws me to the surface once more to bring justice in a corrupt system.

>best part of Omikron was the very beginning when you were investigating the police department and your apartment as the intro cop
>best part of Fahrenheit was the first half when you're investigating a murder mystery both from the cops and the culprit's POV
>best part of Heavy Rain was the FBI agent with AR goggles that's dealing with his lethal drug addiction
>best part of Detroit was Connor
What did Cage mean by this? Seriously he should stop fucking around with "muh 'uman emoshion" and stick to crime mysteries (and write non-dogshit endings while he's at it).

Heavy Rain was pretty damn cool for the time and I'm tired of pretending it's not.

not to mention that a lot of those "mysteries" are just lying to the player/viewer(in case of modern movies) only to reveal some retarded twist that you couldn't have ever predicted

The only issue is that it didn't matter, if you don't cut off your finger than the cop in the alleyway just "happens" to shoot and hit you right in the finger you would have conveniently lost. It's like there isn't even a choice when you replay it

That's because you're an idiot. You're not "not choosing the Communist option", you're choosing the Fascist option. So it gives you Facist points. The same as if you had "not chosen" the Communist option by choosing the Centrist or UltraLib options.

This particular conversation path needed to be mandatory so people could see that the game is always putting these obvious choices in front of you and how little it actually matters to anything.

I mean it's pretty obvious the contempt the game has for the centrists. So in a way the game is calling me a little spineless fence sitter for saying I don't want to grind humans into pigsfeed. Obviously this particular dialogue path is taken to the extreme in all angles, but in the grand scheme of things where the centrist faction is belittled and basically spat on by the devs, why am I being 'punished' for saying I don't want to kill people by being labeled as a faction the devs openly despise? Maybe I just dont get what they were going for, but it was choices like this which was what I was talking about.

I found Disco to be an alright game, not some masterpiece that a lot try to say it is. But I also played a "boring cop" as they put it because I was actually focusing on trying to solve the murder. Don't even think I got the last of the dream sequences either because I ended up solving it faster than they wanted I guess

How can you not get it, you already articulated it; the game takes every option to the extreme. The part that is tongue in cheek is the 'pigsfeed' part. The part they are mocking is the 'I am very smart' Centrist type people who lambast both sides, but have nothing to contribute themselves.

It's the old image (that I can't find and post) about the peasant saying we should improve society and the retard saying 'AND YET YOU LIVE IN A SOCIETY. I AM VERY INTELLIGENT'

The game will take the piss at you for being a boring, reasonable centrist because that's boring and being an unhinged lunatic is funnier. Kim is a boring, reasonable centrist (Moralist) and the game never shits on him for it, he's your voice of reason, your conscience and an authority figure. It's a normal and reasonable attitude for people to have about politics when they're just trying to make it day by day.
Mocking you for picking centrists options or being a "Boring Cop" is a way for the game to make those choices more entertaining in itself.

I think during the escape when you don't cut it off the cop can either shoot Ethan in the shoulder, hand, or finger depends on results of previous trials. Only way to avoid any injuries was to get caught still in the room without fleeing

fascism and communism are not mutually exclusive.
Fascism is more like a tool of the rulers, while communism is a form of government, you can use fascism to instigate/perpetuate a communism regime.
the game should always offer you capitalistic options when you reject communism, and libertarian choices if you reject fascism.

Okay, so they aren't necessarily mocking moderates, just people who try and laude around how "le intelligent" they are and want everything to remain exactly the same. That's starting to make more sense. Guess I understood it more than I thought.

Essentially, yeah. It's not so much about wanting everything to remain the same, but about having nothing to contribute themselves because they aren't willing (or able) to have a strong enough conviction in their beliefs.

The tie is Psyche, isn't it? Go 4/4/2/2 and you trigger it while still being INT focused. The worst part of the predetermined builds is that they leave some stats at 1 and also that the INT one has Encyclopedia as the signature skill which sucks in the long run compared with others like Conceptualization, Visual Calculus or Inland Empire.

Nigga the true critique of Centrism provided by the game is literally "the status quo is the weapon the elites use to oppress the masses". Harry getting picked on for being a fencesitter doesn't enter into it.

>The Kingdom of Conscience will be exactly as it is now. Moralists don't really *have* beliefs. Sometimes they stumble on one, like on a child's toy left on the carpet. The toy must be put away immediately. And the child reprimanded. Centrism isn't change -- not even incremental change. It is *control*. Over yourself and the world. Exercise it. Look up at the sky, at the dark shapes of Coalition airships hanging there. Ask yourself: is there something sinister in moralism? And then answer: no. God is in his heaven. Everything is normal on Earth.

I like Physique because Shivers is one of the best skills for dialogue and on a 2nd playthrough, you realise it foreshadows a lot of the shit that occurs and that you only find out about later.

Volition/Authority for Psyche are good and pretty relevant to the main story.
