>what do you mean a game has mass appeal to more than just one type of player
>why does the game have lore
>why does it have a story
>why does it have characters
>why does it have areas
>why does it have magic
You don't hear loretroons, pvpniggers, roleplayqueers, explorationfags or any other kind of player talk like this.
Only boss rush zogbots who want boss fight after boss fight after boss fight with nothing in between them.

Game would be 100 times better if it was a copy of Monster Hunter and 0 cryptic bullshit done poorly.

A friend of mine got into these games after watching me play elden ring, and he turned into the exact strawman you are mentioning here.
Only wants to lookup OP melee weps then use them to bash his head against the metaphorical brick wall again and again. Im fine that he likes the games but actually talking about them with him is the most vapid and uninteresting convos ever because its just "yeah, i only used like 5 melee weps in my entire playthrough. Oh that boss was ass because it was a gank fight, i hate gank fights, godskin duo sucks even though from nerfed them to absolute fuck"
I always will like from games but FUCK the fanbase to hell.

Monster Hunter without food, without sharpening, without crafting, would be good.

i mean fromsoft making harder and harder shit while still putting garbage weapons into their games, while also making upgrading them costly and grind intensive is their fault entirely. Nodody ever asked for individual weapon upgrading mechanics in the first place, it all could have been stat growth derrived.

>roleplayqueers
A small minority of them existed only for 2 games before bailing out. They were just there for builds and were disappointed in how little rpg this series is/was.
