You can run it partially in RAM. Turnaround on my machine with 12gb VRAM and 32 RAM for 24b models is usually about a minute, and since you're local you can have it streaming the reply which usually comes out at slightly slower than reading speed so it's not bad at all

I don't even use it for ERP anymore. I just create a girlfriend/wife character, and then act in the most pathetically self-depreciating manner possible, so she comforts me and bombards me with love affirmations.

That's actually pretty fucking cool. Might have to try to set something up like that myself so I can have a peanut gallery character or two for some commentary. Usually don't want full blown multi-character cards but occasional light commentary could have a ton of fun scenarios

Outside of writing up cards and lorebooks, not really. I hooked up text to speech once when I had a good voice gen for a character but it's far, far better to just type up dirty talk into a proper text to speech generator if you want it rather than going through ST, and I wasn't that wild about it anyway. Considered making a set of pictures for that emotion thing or whatever they call it but didn't feel like that would be worth it either since I mainly only use portraits for easier skimming through the character library
