They should just continue on the "alternate paths," because the later story beats just aren't very interesting. It stops being fun when Cheri doesn't recognize you personally anymore and is just destroying towns for the sake of it. Not sure what the deal with that flying stuffed animal thing is either, real Jap shit.

Might be a hot take but this is a great example of shrink >> growth. The start of the game was pure kino and it really fell apart when she started interacting with the city and other NPCs. Even if it was a good idea (which I doubt) the tech isn't there for it.

Idk what you're missing here. I talked to the Chief and the road was cleared.
Maybe do some of the Community/Adventure Quests? Sometimes they unlock stuff you need for other quests

SAO is about as close as I've seen a game get to a spiritual sequel.
It gets very wordy at times and your progress gets reset so much that grinding is worthless. But the writing is good and it being a virtual world that's being hacked by the girls gives them way more powers than the SH crew had.
It's also not finished, but there's a lot there already. Just wish there were more scenes for when you cheat and win an unwinnable battle, guy just left a placeholder against the fairy.

Made sens to me, you just got screwed by having to backtrack for it.
One thing i'm annoyed by is that save points are usually BEFORE long cutscenes, so yuo have to rewatch them if you fail (and you want to fail, it's a size game after all, half the fun are the deaths)
