RE3 was always the worst entry of the original series. So they've made it pretty accurate by making it the worst of the remake trilogy as well

Anonymous No.725469468 [Report]
It’s kinda hard to believe now, but for entire 2000’s and early 2010’s RE3 was viewed as the black sheep of classic RE, it was extremely common to see people constantly call Code Veronica “the real RE3” (despite fact that this is based off a myth). And shit on it constantly.

Capcom was aware of this, and as such devoted minimum resources to remake, since they saw it as something that just had to be made before they could do RE4, a game they knew they couldn’t be lazy with when remaking it. They thought no one liked RE3, so cutting iconic moments wouldn’t be criticised. They thought the remake would be universally praised as an increment even if they half-assed it.

But over the years reception to RE3 changed. People became more critical of Code Veronica, and people were less harsh on 3. This was happening before remake even released, but obviously massively accelerated after remake released.

I didn't play the RE games as a kid, I started with RE7, I thought it was great so I decided to go back and play through the franchise from the beginning.

I don’t know where this comes from.

RE3 is litterally longer than RE2 if you only count one route (and playing as other character is like 95% the exact same game). RE3 has way more art, rooms, enemies, actually has more than once puzzle, and unlike RE2 actually made gameplay expansions. RE2 added practically nothing new gameplay wise compared to RE1, it looked and sounded much better, but it played exactly the same. RE3 added:
> quick turn
> ammo crafting
> stairs being part of level design instead of a loading screen
> dodge system
> the “choose what Jill does mid-cutscene” moments
> hugely increased enemy AI and behaviour with Nemisis, enemies in RE2 have like 2 moves each, Nemisis has a far larger moveset and complicated AI.

RE3 added more as a sequel than most sequels did in Ps1 or Ps2 era.

Greed.
Also REmake 3 isn't a remake considering what they did.
Similarly every REmake after the remake of the 1st RE is not considered a true remake due to lacking content and places.
REmake 1 was done by most of the original crew that did the old RE games and features more content instead of lacking it.

>RE3 was always the worst entry of the original series.
But that's wrong you fucking retard. RE2 had a lonely, creepy ambiance where you truly felt like you were the last person alive in the city. RE3 was a constant adrenaline rush of fear because you had this guy named Nemesis, and he's kinda like Mr. X from RE2 except...
Holy shit he can fucking run!
Fuck me he can follow me from room to room?!?
HE HAS A FUCKING ROCKET LAUNCHER!?!

This was RE2 on cocaine. Not only was the star of the show following you all over the entire god damn city, but you also had moments where you had to make timed choices that affected the layout of where items were in the game and how boss fights played out in the future. You had a bunch of new enemies, some fun new weapons and ammo to play with, a sexy Jill Valentine in her iconic best outfit ever, all sorts of new locations in Raccoon to explore, fucking killer music - that final boss fight with Nemesis who just won't fucking die, where you have to build a rail gun in a junk yard while a TACTICAL NUKE is flying towards you?

And you call this the worst entry in the OG series? Get the fuck outta here!

RE2R isn't good game by any means, it's sluggish, it's restrictive, it looks like something made on unity, only the character models hide how cheap it is(like re6).
What creative power did they show? Retarded autism with a backstory of a truck driver in the intro? Retarded autism, with changing casual outfit to police one by Leon, or how he switches the shotgun for the flashlight? Maybe by bringing back a pretty flawed mechanic from REHD with a knife? They made it worse because it was a special consumable knife, not your main one.

You people look on that and ask "WhY tHeY dIdN'T mAkE rE3R bEtTeR?". Are you ok?

What they were thinking was Resistance was going to be their "bro trust me live service Resident Evil will surely work this time" product, then they realized it wasn't, and the Resident Evil 3 remake that was being developed in parallel with Resistance and the RE2make was then chopped and rushed to meet the arbitrary deadline. Jill is the second most popular character after Leon, if they delayed it any longer they know there was a serious chance of it cannibalizing Resident Evil Village's sales, and any later than that would have it trampled by Resident Evil 4's remake.
As to Jill's bizarre characterization compared to the affable professional she was usually portrayed as since RE1, who knows? Maybe they just thought angst and cynicism was an easy way to make a character that already survived RE1 interesting, compared to RE2's Leon naive and untested but heroic rookie.
Honestly though, at least RE3 will always be a Jill game and the game that introduced the iconic Nemesis. It will always have that going for it. RE4 similarly had the Herculean task of remaking fucking Resident Evil 4, one of the greatest games ever made.
I pity the bastards that need to tune up Code Veronica or RE0 if and when that ever happens.

That aside I'm also disappointed for someone whose outfits are so iconic that her RE3make is a boring tank top and dark pants. The remake Raccoon City actually looks appropriate for September, Leon and Claire even arrive wearing jackets. I get why they didn't just have her in a tube top and miniskirt again since the "heat wave and sudden outbreak" justification isn't really in effect, but I feel like they could've done more than the generic action heroine look. This ain't even "hurr I wanna jack off to Jill" thing. I do, but I also appreciate interesting character design regardless of sex appeal.

What they were thinking? They were thinking with their pockets.
Remake 3 is the way it is, not because it didn't have the talent and passion working on it.
The problem was, capcom nit wanting to spend the same amount of money and time they used for Remake 2.
They took advantage of the popularity of 2 and made a fast game with a lot of re used assets and little new content.
Remake 3 feels rushed, not because capcom made the wrong mistakes. Capcom made the right choices, those being, a cheap and marketable game.

Blonde or brunette, whatever face model, it was Jill in a skintight catsuit unzipped to show cleavage, and concept art and cutscenes constantly emphasizing her ass. It was always going to be a hit. They pretty much recycled it for Revelaitons in her wetsuit.

Yes and no. Most games were made in a year or two time frame. All the classic RE games were "slapped together". 2 was famously scrap when it was 80% done and rebuilt in around a year.
