it's crazy how this board glazes Skyrim now. I was here when it was released and vividly remember the reception being mostly negative and being considered a dumbed down RPG and subpar followup to Oblivion (which was already considered a subpar followup to Morrowind). now it's loved here and people will go as far as to gaslight you say it was always loved. guess the zoomers who played it as kids have grown up and post here now.

Can't fix the save file bloat, quest items being stored incorrectly corrupting saves or the game outright being cursed to crash forever if you try to reload on death without exiting the entire game. Oh and if you've super modded skyrim with lots of assets save files eventually getting too big not to crash on load.

If bethesda would fix skyrim and that's a big IF I'd gladly purchase it again.

With every re-release they break every modlist and you will have to hope and wait every modder will wake up from his 10 year old slumber to re-patch his mod for a 14 year old game. All that in favor of Creation Club, where Bethesda tried (and succeeded) making a store to sell mods they didn't make because selling Skyrim for the n-th time wasn't enough obviously.

It was considered as one the worst game ever released (as /v/ always does with a popular game). Morrowind was beloved, and Oblivion was tolerated.

One of the complains for Skyrim was the quest marker which today most (if not all) games need to have to not be considered dogshit, while Morrowind has the superior journal system. Combat was great for RPG fans, but not for action game fans (which Skyrim tried to aim for and was key for it success).

Skyrim is a mediocre rpg. But with porn mods, its decent now. I can understand the people who glazed Morrowind even though I didn't play it back then since theres a lot of depth to it. But I really don't understand the people who glaze Oblivion. I played Oblivion at launch on xbox 360, and I wouldn't even say it holds up today. The mods are worse than Skyrim, and I don't know what that game does that make it better than the other two.
