I forgot to turn updates off in steam so I got the AE upgrade unconsensually and it borked all my f4se plugins, which isn't a huge deal I guess considering F$ doesn't have a ton of important f4se plugins, but the plugins it does have are completely vital like BCR if you're doing a pump shotgun or lever-action build.

I fucking hate this, not just in Fallout 4 either, but for every fucking game that does it. The amount of games that are straight up ruined by DLC and other shit because the devs just dump it all on you immediately, often with shitty screens and pop up messages, Ubishit is by far one of the worst offenders in that respect.

The owrst thing is that out of the anniversary mod pack only one mod remotely interests me - institute plasma weapons. Aside from that everything is shit. Like, there is no shakeup of the any system. No new legendary effects, no new mechanics, no new anything, no new cooking. Just slop. They could've ported over things from 76, nope, nothing like that. They could've made a silent protag and overhaul dialogue options or give extra choices and ways to do vanilla quests. They could've made it so that you dont need to settlement build to get into institute. Nope. Nada. Just more trash.

Why is everyone being so negative about this edition? It's just a new and improved version of a beloved game. Older games get updated all the time. You don't even need to buy it, if you own it you can still keep playing it. And it's only $20 upgrade for TONS of new content which is a steal in my opinion.

It's mostly that FO4 is a decent template of a game that could greatly benefit from a little fleshing out. Don't get me wrong; skins and (to a lesser extent) furniture are genuinely good additions to the existing systems. It's fucking crazy that there were so few visual customization option in the base game. But what FO4 really needs is an expansion on the existing world building and quest narratives. A few solid "filler" quests + new dungeons would go a long way towards improving the existing narratives as well as implementing new ones.

The best stuff released appear to be the Beast Hunter and Bounter Hunter creations, and one of those costs extra on top of the AE.
