Is it normal for this game to make you feel like a 4 man spec ops team?

>Use air magic to fly and to deliver fire ball strikes from above like an attack copter then slowly repel down to finish the enemy off on foot
>Use gorilla hit and run tactics to slowly dwindle the enemy forces while running to cover to cover
>call in meteorite air strikes upon enemy armies marching around the hills and valleys

Does anyone know what dark and light spells are good? I heard good things about shrapmetal but it didn't wow me during my test save where I pumped it up with several points.

it's just the best damage spell in the game. Get like 15 points in dark, armageddon a few villages to get the rep for Master dark, move up close to dragons and 1-tap them with each shrapmetal.
Dragonbreath is also excellent but the skyhigh MP cost makes it a bit annoying to use since you need to go through more loading screens

shrapmetal is the best single target damage dealing spell in the game
you need shoot point blank so every piece hits your target

This game has one of the best world progressions I've ever seen and I still don't know why, 20 years after first playing it.

New Sorpigal is maximum comfy too.
