I still play it regularly, mostly modded of-course (HP, characters, new stages etc.), but still play the multiplayer and a lot of this game's flaws spur from how it's fundamentally designed imo. As a Dragon Ball Z fight sim, it still mogs the fuck out of RB, Xenoverses 1 & 2, and without DLC mogged base Xenoverse 2 and some its DLCs with the What ifs i.e. Gohan Black, Father/son final flash (underwhelming), Black never fusing with Zamasu etc.
But it just fails with so many other aspects, some subjective on my part but some undeniable:
>Majority models all trying to replicate Shintani's softer style from Broly, making everyone in the game with few exceptions skinny weird chinlets - Z Broly looks off
>The incredibly muted sfx & design and some case even altered, making the attack sound effects very underwhelming, this even passes on to the addition of the original SM sfx
>The damage being fucking ridiculous and fights ending way too quickly on release, for both MP and SP - sort of resolved for single battles but game should really start all chars with 4 stock if anything, means players can get more transformations off - speaking of which, transformations are super rare in CPU battles now, need a mod for that shit too atp
>Virtually no returning single player time-sink modes from previous sparking games with the exception of tournament mode
>The create a scenario mode was very lacking and even had mode exclusive character items that would have been nice to have in the base battle mode so you could freely set up long battles without mods
>Post launch support being fucking wank + DLCs themselves being underwhelming
>base game having an unironic fortnite customisation UI and yet having no customisation
>Animations in the game also look incredibly amatuerish, SSJ Goku (Mid) immediately springs to mind with his intro and his stance, looked fine in RB
>Music forgettable
Game just fails on so many fronts that even Raging Blast did better on, tho SZ is better.
