It's fine. A bit on the boring side, but it's about average for a Battle Network game. The biggest problem is that the main plot of the game is a tournament-arc, so you're forced to do the daily whatever and then you'll return to fight the associated boss in the tournament setting. It's not really bad, just kind of mediocre.

The real problem is if you want to 100% the game, because then you need to replay it three times. And here's where the real problem comes up: Along with the regular mainline stories, there are six "tournament" stories and each playthru you'll see three of them. Not a huge deal with the first playthru. However, you're guaranteed to replay one of those in the second playthru and you'll have to replay two of them in the third playthru. So if you're trying to 100% the game, you'll end up not only replaying the regular story content repeatedly, but also replaying the same tournament arcs over and over again. It gets pretty old pretty fast, especially compared to MMBN3 which just had additional content at the end of the game.

There's also a concern if you're trying to grab a specific soul, because it might not actually show up until the end of the third playthru. So you're more likely to not bother trying to hope for a specific one. (even if some are ridiculously good)

More like all of them are tied to Red Sun. Blue Moon has nothing that really compares to the immediate, braindead power that Search Soul and Roll Soul bring to the table.
The closest things Blue Moon has are Wood Soul and Junk Soul but the former eats shit the instant the faintest ember even grazes you and the latter requires RNG and knowing how to trash Dark Chips, which you can only access by doing poorly and Junk Soul has the worst Charge Shot in the game.

It did kill the series, BN could never recover from the damage BN4 did to its reputation which made BN5 sell terribly and as result Capcom decided to end it all with BN6. The same happened with StarForce 2 and now with MH Wilds.

It's honestly been awhile, so I don't remember the best ones. The only one I do remember is Metal Soul, and that's because you could charge the hockey pucks and basically one-shot nearly anything. Especially if you get it in the middle or one of the corners, since you can ricochet it far more times than normal that way.

i like bn4 but a lot of the chips are kinda bad. its really noticeable if you are playing blue moon and also have the downside of not having any of the good soul unisons to play with, so you end up having to try and fight the hyperactive ass boss navis with shit like the stupid musical notes and weak ass vulcan guns. you also don't get free navi chips like roll and gutsman to help provide safe damage, so you really are just on your fucking own out there

tying enemy level to playthrough count was a huge mistake. This way you only ever get v1 chips on your first playthrough which limits how many chips you see in a regular playthrough while also making it so all of the PAs that use level 1 2 3 of the same chip aren't available.

>Why is the virtual world and technology no longer a cool concept in 2025?
Because most of the interesting things we could gain from a virtual world have been demystified by things like AR or VR and our experience with The Internet of Things. We also have video games, TV shows, and movies in general that have somewhat lessened that impact from such a concept.

Technology has lost favor because we've all experienced the countless negatives it brings to society that people have mostly stopped being impressed, especially since companies aren't really trying to innovate anymore.
>Enormous loss of jobs due to the AI push with no fallback or plan for when it truly hits society that like 60+% of jobs can be automated or made redundant.
>Lack of social cohesion due to being exposed to the entire world instead of just a small community of people you would have prior to it in addition to constantly seeing negative aspects of other cultures more often than positive aspects.
>The feedback loop you can get yourself into because of targeted advertising and search optimization tailored to you.
>Brain drain and massive loss of attention span due to short-form content.
>Everything exists to try and get your information or advertise to you.
>The Internet of Things showing us how terrible technology is when it pervades every aspect of your life and how it can lead to worse products due to the need to force it into everything.
>Whenever something new comes out it's mostly small iterations on things now instead of something massive as seen in the smartphone industry as well as consoles.
Very rarely do you have shake ups like the foldable phones and the Switch, and even then foldable phones are terrible.
>Everything is heavily policed when you do try to take advantage of it making you feel like every discussion is walking on eggshells.
>Actual fake information and conspiracies are peddled to you regularly and it's up to you to sift through the nonsense.

Anyone hating on 4 is not a real fan of Megaman plain and simple, the tournament story driven narrative was exhilarating and a fresh spin instead of another "Lan goes on public outing and stumbles upon member of evil organization and has to macguffin their plans"
The Tournaments providing SoulCrosses and a wider variety of Navi Chips combined with the replayability was what made it the most enjoyable one for me, you're not just collecting, you're building on what you already had. It's not just new game+, it's new game ++. It's unlocking every single potential avenue of Megaman's power. Not to mention it has the most bosses of any game and the best Navi designs in the series as well as my personal favorite series of chips the Darkchips.

I find it more disappointing 4.5 never got localized with the Legacy Collection because it could have been so easy to just patch the game to work with the Nintendo Switch by unlocking the entire roster just like how you could unlock exclusive chips in the menu. Playing someone other than Megaman for an entire game would have made me put it over 4 as my favorite in the series.

There's only one major glitch, and it's if you are playing the original version of Red Sun on an original Nintendo DS. It's an avoidable thing the vast majority of players won't experience, especially these days. It was fixed in the BN Collection. So you would pretty much have to i tentionally trigger it these days.

Everything else is minor oddities you really have to go out of your way to notice/care about (i.e stuff that most offline games have). So aside from the Woodman thing, it's glitchy in the way that Ocarina of Time, Melee, and Oblivion are.

Occasional Engrish in the translation is soul though.
