Burned out at the stargates. I had like 1/3 of resources to build my first stargate but all other mats would require me to afk for some insane hours and i wasnt gonna do that.
It was grindy but fun at the same time. I liked working towards stuff in the early game un to late high voltage, but it got stupider the further i progressed. Kinda a 4.5/10 for me. Really needs an endgame rework.

In YouTube videos, I often seen players jump before attacking with an axe. Does that do more damage or is it just autism?

Exploration sucks.
A lot of my time spent building has just been making roads/tunnels/tracks/paths to distant resources that are sometimes useful for somethings. I'm not actually working on my village; I'm just off securing some resource that is tangentially useful.

You only explore to find enough materials to set up a farm (whether manual or automated) back home. A few spruce saplings? Check. A single bamboo? Check. Some moss? Check. That's it. Even if you're after ancient cities or trial chambers, the fact that you can't just find one and then repeat it until you have what you need, but have to keep finding more, only serves to make everything feel so repetitive. Finding an ancient city isn't cool, because they're all over the fucking place, and you probably need to raid 10 of them to get the unique armor trims anyway. It's like how even the best roguelike inevitably turns stale after you've seen the same rooms and corridors a hundred times, and there's nothing left to surprise you. I'd rather have trial chambers be way more rare, but infinitely repeatable, because at least then I'd have a reason to build a road to it if I find it, as I might actually want to go back there again in the future

I made a personal challenge for myself: do as much as I can without leaving this island. I didn't spawn on it so I brought a birch and an oak sapling from the mainland, along with a couple of sugarcane, but it turned out the island had one acacia tree and some sugarcane already growing on it. I'm yet undecided on how much mining I'll allow. So far, I've dug enough to have a few stacks of cobble and some iron.
The cows, sheep, and pig all spawned naturally on the closer end of the island that is a savanna biome.
I'm not sure how far I'll take this since I just came up with it while bored. We'll see. Next up, a mob farm. Well, waiting for the trees to grow so I can get the blocks for a mob farm. And maybe a house of some kind.
Ugly as fuck? Yes. A style of play I've never done before? Also yes.

this is probably the coolest seed Ive come across in over 10 years of playing. there are multiple intact villages with beautiful scenery to build up and connect with rail networks and paths to satisfy my autism. im genuinely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of stuff to do on this seed.
what ive chosen as the main village is in a spruce forested valley surrounded by really beautiful jagged peaks on multiple sides, so you have an amazing view everywhere. Ive renovated the shit out of it, including a cool cathedral. I build a small artificial lake thats comes out of a natural mountain waterfall right beside it for fishing. to the north ive built a big farm with a cool windmill that you can see over the trees from the village, and further north there is a river network, along which im going to build little boat houses, that connects to dark oak forest/pale gardens, another village to the east, and eventually Id like to build a jungle base as well, which I will connect to the river network
to the south ive build a path to another village, and in the jagged peaks, a nice little castle, also party visible from the capital. from the castle ive connected to another village in the neighbouring valley, and from that village i will connect to the next village over, which is smack dab inside a cherry grove forest beside the mountain and is absolutely beautiful, so im looking forward to renovating that one too. just gotta get the second leg of the rail network up and running to connect it
eventually id like to move further south and connect the swamp and cold biome villages. hell I might even make my way to the desert/badlands region that is west of the swamp

I built a mob farm but nothing ever spawns in it. I'm guessing the caves somewhere below hog all the spawns so the mob cap is always full.
I did dig down and find some caves and slapped some torches down, but that's an exercise in futility with how expansive the caves are. And there's multiple layers, too. Mobs did spawn down there so it's not bugged and not on peaceful. Oh well. At least I came out with diamonds.
But I have to get the mob farm working somehow or I'll never get villagers. Maybe if I build it high enough so everything in the caves despawns?
