WHY do people say 5v5 is more deathmatchy??? it's not remotely true but it's a complaint I hear from bad players all the time to justify not liking 5v5. there's still just as much macro and micro game sense involved in being good at the game as there was in 6v6, just with 1 tank instead of 2. that means both teams have to account for 1 less source of damage mitigation both enabling and deterrring engages-- that's it. it doesn't change any of the fundamental strategies involved in playing the game, nor has it really changed much about organized play. the biggest overall difference between 5v5 and 6v6 is tank players now have to think about how to take AND control space, rather than just take space or control it depending on if they're an off tank or main tank. that's not more "deathmatchy" at all-- if anything it requires MORE game sense and strategy
