I haven't played it or own a Switch 2 yet, but I do like the alternate outfits. I get that the models from this game are more detailed so you won't get something on par with Tour's alts for a while. And while I do like the increase in mooks as playables, I'm still disappointed that Diddy, Funky and a few other faces aren't playable in the base game.

That's fucked up, they had to go out their way to NOT refer to it as such. I get they want to keep things within its own series so you don't get too much overlap, but for games like this, we're past the point where you can pretend that Ware and DKC doesn't exist. Pic related should have been the new gold standard with Mario rosters, a little of everything from each of the sibling series within each respective games' boundaries. I think this was the game that caused the guidelines to be created with how Mario's world is portrayed.

Someone seems to have figured out how characters were balanced speed-wise. Basically, every character specializes in certain driving roads, which gives them a boost equal to 0.2 more in Speed than what is visible on the stat screen when driving in those roads, either Smooth (normal road, possibly metal and ice road), Off-Road (dirt roads, sand, maybe snow), and Water (on water).

The featherweights (Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Parabiddybud, Swoop) and super heavyweight (Bowser) do not have specialists. Their standard visible Speed stat already accounts for driving faster naturally on all types of road. On the same account, due to the way the game shows their stats in certain vehicles, the same is probably true for their Handling as well.
