It's half cost first use, and provides 30% OD bar on top. So you spend 6, set that up, then spend 0 to set up the fire field for free, and get +5sp for everyone, including herself.
If you are playing her in fire, you can use the field again to provide +5sp for effectively 9 base cost SP (she gets that 5 as well after all), while if you play dark, you simply slap another dark field for 12 sp.
With her new style, you can essentially do the same, and also play thunder. Problem of her new SS is that while the buff is more comfy, it's technically no better than what her ss2 common skill can do.
Personally I don't think it's worth doing, because thunder relies largely on diva Ruka SP regen + Inori spamming her "all SP" ex to generate OD. In other words, this extra SP from Iroha ss2 isn't REALLY needed. The 6 cost +30% OD is something you happily take though, that's for sure.
The +5 is much more useful in dark and fire, as the spammers there need SP (Aina/Adel respectively).

Jokes aside, this game isn't hard enough for you to need anything in specific. The only actually kinda difficult content is wave battle, and other things are more potent there than Ruka (not like she's bad). But JP only had that 2 times so far.
Note that wave battle actually gives most rewards based on total score, and not being able to reach a good high score is essentially just -100 quartz and a trophy less at worst.
