Toriel literally lights a candle and prays for Asgore at church plus both of the Holidays like him and support him. She actually actually puts up with him unlike UT where he's quite a bit mean while he's mostly awkward but nice in DR We also see nothing implying Kris holds any grudges against him and Noelle seems fine about him.

So whatever happened (probably with Dess) it doesn't look like anyone (including Toriel) actually close to the incident blames him for it.

Also genuinely wheres the proof that they "Cant stand" living underground? I understand it not being ideal and them wishing to see the surface but by all accounts the monsters are pretty happy with their lives. It could be better but its not hell. They got a good economy going, very little in terms of crime since all criminals are either dumbasses or just charging high rates for baked goods, a thriving entertainment industry, plenty of biome diversity for every monster from Living Snowflake to Fire Elemental, TWO capital cities that they had so much trouble filling that one of them is pretty much abandoned (Old Home, though you can argue that's Toriel's fault for sealing off the ruins), I can go on. If I woke up tomorrow, stepped outside, and I was in Snowdin I would fail to see much issue with my new life

If they know that, how would they think Asgore absorbing the souls is any better? What if he crossed the barrier and died trying to attain more souls because of the souls rebelling? It's interesting to see the first time Ralsei asks Kris to "imagine what Susie is doing" to distract the soul and we return to Ralsei finishing up a conversation with Kris.
We also witness the first steps of the soulfuckery. With the soul dashing in from the top right of the screen to help Susie dodge attacks from Lancer and zooming back out that way when the turn is over. Which is also interesting to see after playing the weird route and knight where we can see the heart can manipulate and be manipulated using the UI and battle interface.

Hear me out, I think the prophecy already happened. We are being red herring'd into thinking it's currently going on, but it makes sense if the prophecy was actually about Dess, Asriel, and another human we don't know about. The prophecy came true, the human was possibly sacrificed, and Dess went missing. What we are experiencing now is the attempts of other characters trying to go back through dark worlds to get Dess back. This also might explain Ralsei, as he could be a "ghost" or "imprint" Asriel unintentionally, or intentionally, left behind in the Dark World. This would also explain why the girl who resembles Susie in the prophecy has a sword and not an axe, it might be Dess instead.

There is also a very small change in color. It's essentially just a tiny, tiny bit darker in the closet, and you can only really see the difference if you stretch it out and compare.
The positioning of his hair vs his arm on the sprite is distinct enough to be evidence enough on it's own, the color is a shakier one because the difference is so miniscule.
