From what I've seen, the new support allows you to get out a negate before your chokepoints and you now have another one card starter.
The issue is that I have no clue what it can do into Maxx C/The mulch cards, and it still probably struggles to play into 2+ interruptions, making going second a joke. Hopefully I'm wrong, but it still looks like a good petdeck.

I’ll be honest when I heard MST was getting bought out I thought it was because of the new time wizard rules, I mean it only makes sense with priority gone that traps are more dangerous now meaning MST is more important now. Imagine how shocked I was when it turned out to be for some new archetype instead. The funniest part is that I actually fomo bought a playset without knowing the real reason.

The new cards are cool, but I can't help but feel like they slightly miss the mark both aesthetically and gameplay wise.
The Level 12 is clearly meant to ape Aratron with the actual omninegate effect and the hand effect mirroring the discard but for stopping your opponent's plays but I can't help but feel like it needed a third ritual summon effect, also, it really could have used further design motifs from the other Megaliths like Phul's weird rainbow portal rather than just the crystals, and the Bethor/Hagith's demon and Ophiel/Phaleg's angel shtick outside of just the wings because it just looks like a Primite boss since it doesn't really have strong enough Megalith vibes, I mean it's a cool design, but still.

How's Mitsurugi compared to Ryzeal, Maliss, etc?

Year of Ritual...

All 3 Megalith cards are great, custom even, but Megalith as a deck will never compete in any serious capacity because it suffers from the same problems Ursarctics do.
1. It requires you to open very specific hands to be able to do anything.
2. It's too resource intensive early on. As such if you get interrupted you've just wasted like 3-4 card and achieved nothing.
And just like Ursarctic it does absolutely explode in the card advantage it can generate later on in the combo, often ending on 6+ cards in hand and a stacked field but early on it just takes too many fucking resources to do ANYTHING because of the nature of the decks playstyle and how the cards are designed. You need 1 of the higher-level megaliths to act as the ritual spell (discards itself to activate), 1 in hand to summon and tribute fodder. That's 3 cards minimum gone to make your initial play.
If the card you summon gets negated in any way you are FUCKED. Period.

All the megalith cards (besides Phul I think?) don't have OPT's on their search effects and you can keep summoning them over and over to go through your deck adding but that initial play is so fucking weak and vulnerable to interrupts that they gave them the Ursarctic treatment and gave them a card which adds a ton in the new continuous spell just like Ursarctic Radiation to try offset that weakness.

I will say this though. The new misc Megalith is crazy and may be the one card that helps Megalith the most and I'm ngl as much as people hate misc this was IMO the only thing they could have done to salvage the archetype in any fucking way whatsoever because otherwise you start your turn, go minus 3 to summon 1 ritual monster then have it get Ashed and you just insta-lose unless the last 2 cards in your hand are broken Ithey won't be).

I'm curious how many people here would play ball with TT format. I like HERO so I'm automatically sold on a format where it can stretch its wings, but are the eight archetypes so far wide enough in appeal for any given Yugioh player to find something they like? I'm sure they're hoping that in the future TTP announcements will be met with cheers of "awesome my favorite archetype is in!" like with Duel Links, but with how frustrated people are with Advanced this doesn't feel like something to dripfeed.

I feel like making it a 25/15 maindeck and 8/7 extra split would help a lot with that problem. But at the same time I get they want to avoid people playing "DM" decks that are actually just Azamina White Forest. I think a banlist that hits all the really busted shit would be a better way to fix that though. They already regularly ban Baronne and co in Master Duel events.

you can't really approach the equips with a TCG mindset.
you have to understand that rush approaches alot of things in terms of brackets.
like levels, alot of cards only affect level 8 or lower monsters, that's why most high investment fusions are level 9, and then some spell cards in the next bracket affect level 9 or lower, these cards usually have a heftier cost but get rid of bosses (cost makes them shit so people use the broken generic shit that breaks the rule, but i'm talking about general card design philosophy), and then after that you get level 10s (maximums) which their level alone makes them immune to most S/T, at the cost of being brickier.

Attack values are the same.
most shitter monsters peak at 1600 attack, then the next bracket is level 5-6 trwhich reach 1800-2200 attack, then you get the two tribute mons and bosses which are usually around 2500 attack, which makes it so diffrences of even 100 attack substantial. this means monsters that can reach 3000 actually gatekeep most of the cardpool, and then in the 3000 bracket, differences of 100 attack become even more important.
when you understand this it becomes apparent why giving Zera something that lets him reach 3800 + piercing is actually quite good for the deck.

Tl;dr: gatekeeping and walling with beatsticks is very effective in rush.
