The game gives you a nudge upwards if you win too much. Say, you win too many in a row, you go into too many win streaks, etc., the game will give you a bonus so you climb up faster. I've heard there's bonus for performance too.
I imagine it's because when you reach Master, all your characters start at S+, so they wanted the masters to climb faster and stop raping the natural inhabitants of the lower ranks.

All they literally have to do is make it so you lose more points if you lose to someone with less crystals than you and gain more points if you beat someone with more crystals than you.

When you hit master rank, just set your crystal to 1300 or something, and then weigh point distribution on win/loss based on the difference in crystal count. You have a really basic form of MMR with that and you can try and match people based on this value.

But currently, you still gain more crystals for winning than losing, and then there is the meme factor of running into a GM where even if you take a single game, you get a fuck ton of crystals, so especially with low population characters, you can easily get master rank with them because you just need to run into like 5-6 of these golden goblins to instantly shoot up into the top 10.

And because it's so easy to just shoot up that high, it also makes those people who accidentally get GM to become other people's golden goblins to farm for easy points.

Crystal inflation in master rank doesn't really matter because GM is still zero sum and somebody that "lucked" their way into 10th is not gonna keep it for very long. You just pointed out reasons why the current system is bad because one and doning actually matters because you are incentivized to one and done if you are GM and you run into a master player who is better than you and the system incentivizes long term grinding, you can't climb to top 10 on populated characters quickly late season because at most you are only going to get 50-100 crystals per game assuming you run into GMs every game which isn't going to happen. So good luck grinding 10k crystals in the last 2 weeks of a season. You just need to run into and 2-0 100 GMs in a row.

It's isn't a new and innovative idea, it's the most common MMR system in existence, I'm just describing ELO.

My theory is that every modern fighting game has a character specifically designed for women and casuals to win with to try and attract more players to their game
What does this mean?
It means

When you play, do you use the Block Button, hold 4 to block (or 4+2?), or both?
I find that when im trying to move, sometimes i do Evade or Cross Over by mistake due to me using just block button.
I tend to not walk a lot when i use Block Button.
Its much easier to block standing/crouching for me with Block Button, and it also blocks the "cross up mixups".
I cant really feel out blocking with 4/4+2, it feels just awkward, but one thing that would help me if i used it would be that if i dont hold the Block Button, i can do my anti air grab better (because if you hold Block Button and do the anti air grab it will do Evade).
I tried to make it so that when holding 2+4 it would prioritize 4 but it doesnt, it makes you use the 2 skill.
4/2+4 blocking just makes me go backwards and corner myself i feel like, its really awkward.
