Alright. Pretty simple and their split phase is annoying solo but it’s a decent first boss.

Really easy solo, kinda easy multiplayer too but it’s way more annoying cause this thing likes running away so the fight lasts a while. Has great music.

it matters a lot. different weapons have different speeds, attack angles, sizes, and stance damage. hammers and greathammers are the best at stance damage, but often a one handed weapon such as a straight sword is the most effective since you can fit more guardcounters into a combo string than a larger weapon and it has a favorable angle

Have you never had the magma wyrm spam it's charge attack over and over and over? In Elden Ring I've seen it use that move literally ten times in a row.

Yeah both damage and stagger vary a lot depending on weapon type, also colossals have hyper armor during their counters.
Range also matters because you'll often miss if your weapon is too small due to hits pushing your character backwards when blocked.
If you want speed while having also great range, use a Nagakiba(faster than a straight sword, longer than most weapons in the game), if you want something slower but with more damage and hyperamor, use the Golem Halberd, if you want a middle ground, use one of the longer Greathammers like the Great Stars or Great Mace.

Also don't bother with Greatshields until you can get your hands on the Fingerprint or something similar, because the Medium shields in Elden Ring got overbuffed so a Brass Shield is basically better than almost all Greatshields while weighting 3 times less.

That's pretty solid. I like queuing with randos, but queuing with /erg/ is an easy way to boost your stats if you care about that sort of thing. Also, the vast majority of my games are on Wylder, who is extremely easy to carry with if your routing is good and you have a lot of hours in these games. If you're playing a squishy class (aside from Ironeye), there's a much smaller margin for error, especially if you have to compensate for some lesser skilled randos.

NP. Wylder (charged) and Ironeye can also knock him out of it their ults, but that's obviously more of a single-use card. The first time he meditates, he (usually) only spawns three seals, so you can break them all yourself if you manage your stamina. If you didn't know, actions like rolling, surge sprinting, and jumping will all break them, not just attacking them.

Easily spammable, insane tracking, low FP, can have as many on screen heading toward a boss as you want as long as you're somewhere safe to mash the button, destroys camps and jobber enemies/bosses, I'm pretty sure it gets affected by magic related buffs, can safely deal chip damage to the nightlords with it from decently far away if you didn't find any good spells that run.
