Good friday everyone, I'll give a quick review of an awful game today. Marimo continues his trend of lackluster games RJ01369833. Everything for a half decent game would be in place if he just bothered to learn some proper game design. It has decent scenes if you like bdsm and friday content, decent progressive status screens and a nice premise with unique art. However, the game design is just awful, I wouldn't even deign to call it a cg hunter. Everything about the game is off, random scenes out of nowhere, buggy triggers that don't care about continuity or chronology, the dev didn't even bother adding proper stamina consumption / rewards progression. There's no contextual lewdness dialogue and progression. You can beat the game in 5 minutes if you bother doing the optimal route and all side scenes aren't even worth bothering with as their reward isn't even worth it. Normally, you'd have to struggle to get the good ending and engaging in lewdness would reward you with faster progress as a cost, not here, it's the complete opposite. Honestly, it's probably the worst game I've bothered playing this year, it's even worse than expedition 33. I got 2 endings and just decided to look up the rest of the scenes in the gallery, and you should too.

Played one recently where every card was 1 mana 5 damage, 2 mana 9 damage, 3 mana 13 damage (or equivalent shield). But most of those games have very little in common with STS and each other. Like for example the TSge has a lot of differences from STS, for example it doesn't have HP but instead the deck is used as HP. Instead of gradually building your deck throughout a run by drafting random cards you assemble your deck before the run with 100% control of the cards you pick. Not to mention the Demon cards which are completely different from anything in STS. To be frank, the only thing they really have in common is that they're deckbuilders where you spend mana to play cards.

All StS is is gameplay where your skills get randomly locked each turn. Go play Sol Rui After Mini, and do the forest dungeon in that game. Some enemies will inflict statuses that disable one or more random buttons each turn. THAT'S all Slay the Spire is to me, but Rui remembered to also bring the school and bunny club levels to make up for it.

StS itself has become boring and overbalanced to a degree. It's funny that you should say that its copies lack ingenuity when the StS mods have plenty more ingenuity and fun interactions than the base game itself.
